Valentine's Day? Let's get it done!
Oooh baby,
Our youngest son told us all he really needs is a wristwatch "with hands on it." No fancy schmancy electronic gadgetry for him. He explained, "I want one with a face and hands so you know what it's doing. You don't have to see it all the time. You have to keep looking at the digital kind." I guess to an 8 year old this means the digital numbers change continually and he would find that distracting on some kind of level. So he will be receiving an inexpensive wristwatch for Valentine's Day. DONE!
Our older son requested a heart shaped box of chocolates. Evidently he's going hardcore traditional. Fine by me. Those boxes of candies aren't elusive by any means. Will only take me a second or two to grab one and go. DONE!
My husband is a fan of the Denver Broncos so when Aviva and I were in Mexico (we'll be telling you more about that trip next week!) I snapped this picture at a restaurant in Cancun just for him. Seriously, for him it is the thought that counts and the fact that I even thought about the Broncos during my trip is a total turn on for him. A wife who loves him and embraces his love of all things Broncos? DONE!
And for me? Last month I picked up a pair of boots during a business trip in Austin and when I got back the kids asked, "Can those be from us too? Like for Valentine's Day?" Absolutely! What an awesome idea! Worked for them, worked for me. DONE!
Who would have thought getting it done would be just as okay as getting it on? Certainly you can do either or both or something else. That's the beauty of creating your own definition of even the most commercial of holidays; when you've done it, it's done!
